N-SIDE is a world leader in increasing the efficiency of life sciences and energy industries by providing software and services that optimize the use of natural resources, facilitating the transition to a more sustainable world. N-SIDE has over 250 employees, is headquartered in Belgium with offices in the USA and Japan. They are a certified B Corporation and recognized as one of Deloitte Belgium’s Best Managed Companies.
Key challenge
When N-SIDE’s RevOps manager went on maternity leave, the company needed not just a temporary replacement but also an opportunity to tackle longstanding challenges within its newly formed Revenue Operations department. Visibility into deal performance was limited, with no clear distinction between new business, renewals, and expansions. The Salesforce system was overly complex, frustrating users and slowing down processes, while the absence of tailored dashboards left teams struggling to make informed decisions.
Additionally, handover processes between Sales, Finance, Legal, and Delivery teams were inefficient, resulting in prolonged time-to-cash cycles. Most importantly, the new RevOps function is not yet perceived as the strategic driver in the business.
These issues were compounded by N-SIDE’s ambitious plans to expand further in APAC and North America and achieve aggressive revenue goals by 2028. A strategic RevOps function is needed.
Check list: How to prepare for maternity leave
We asked N-SIDE RevOps managers what she would recommend to fellow Ops pros going on maternity leave.
Prepare a list of priorities to be covered during the time
Start the hand-off process 4 weeks before the leave
Have an onboarding day or week for the cover
Document and reference key processes and workflows
Plan for a 4-week transition period post-return
Establish regular check-ins and meetings cadence
Provide a map of key stakeholders and points of contact
Create a feedback loop for improvement
Solution
Revenue Wizards stepped in as a trusted partner, seamlessly covering the RevOps manager’s responsibilities while implementing a strategic overhaul of the RevOps function. We began by addressing the immediate operational needs, ensuring continuity during Noémie’s absence, while simultaneously identifying opportunities for long-term improvements.
A critical part of our work involved optimizing Salesforce. We introduced deal type distinctions, enabling N-SIDE to track and analyze performance across new business, renewals, and expansions for the first time. The Salesforce interface was redesigned, removing outdated fields and simplifying layouts to improve usability and productivity.
To foster a data-driven culture, we developed tailored dashboards that provided each team and leadership level with relevant, actionable insights. This shift empowered individuals and teams to make informed decisions, enhancing accountability across the organization.
Recognizing the inefficiencies in the handover process, we established a standardized workflow between Sales and other departments. This not only reduced errors but also significantly improved operational efficiency. Additionally, we built forecasting and target-setting modules in Salesforce and laid the groundwork for a renewal pipeline, creating a more predictable revenue stream and minimizing the risk of churn.
We also put a strong focus on teaching and skill transfer from Revenue Wizards to N-SIDE to make the RevOps function more strategic. Three members of the N-SIDE RevOps teams participated in the Revenue Wizards Essentials Live Course. Donokhon Abulkasimova, a RevOps coordinator at N-SIDE, also participated in the course and started a mentoring program with Revenue Wizards. She described her experiences as:
“Our partnership with Revenue Wizards began just as I transitioned from Marketing to Revenue Operations, and it was incredible to start this exciting journey with two experienced RevOps professionals. Their expertise was invaluable in optimizing our Salesforce usage and process improvements, resulting in stronger alignment across our GTM teams, greater efficiency, and more data-driven decision-making.
The Revenue Wizards course has also been an exceptional resource, providing both knowledge and practical skills that are especially beneficial for young professionals like me.
Recently, I joined their mentoring program and am excited about the opportunities it presents to further develop my skills and advance my career.”
Impact
By partnering with Revenue Wizards, N-SIDE successfully maintained operational momentum during the maternity leave period while addressing systemic inefficiencies. Salesforce usability improved dramatically, simplifying workflows and increasing team productivity. The introduction of dashboards and forecasting tools brought transparency and accountability, enabling N-SIDE to embrace a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Most importantly, the strategic improvements laid a strong foundation for N-SIDE’s future growth. With an enhanced RevOps function, the company is now better equipped to scale operations globally and achieve its ambitious revenue targets while staying true to its mission of sustainability.
"Working with Revenue Wizards over the past few months has been a real pleasure. Their unique combination of competencies — technical knowledge paired with strategic thinking — and the experience they bring from working with other companies facing similar challenges have been invaluable to N-SIDE. They have truly helped us take the necessary steps to develop the RevOps team. Notably, they assisted us in defining how to best structure this unit to support our Go-to-Market teams. Their ability to consistently focus on both short-term quick wins and long-term process improvements has been crucial in driving significant progress in our RevOps journey."
