The Pendulum

The Pendulum

The Pendulum

The RevOps Pendulum uses the pendulum to illustrate our scientific approach to RevOps.

Inspired by Newton’s Pendulum, it shows how Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success must be aligned under one go-to-market strategy. This is achieved through a holistic focus on Enablement, Process, Systems, and Data — breaking down silos and creating momentum for growth.

When these forces move in sync, they close the gap between strategy and execution — transforming silos into shared systems, chaos into clarity, and friction into scalable, predictable growth.

I recently finished The RevOps Pendulum by Haris Odobasic. It was such a good read. Well-researched, practical, and refreshingly no-fluff. Kind of the RevOps bible, very fundamental piece. I took away a lot, but one idea stuck with me: RevOps isn't a side function. It's the operating system for predictable growth. In any organisation, RevOps aligns four things that too often drift apart: - Process – how work actually gets done - Enablement – how people are set up for success - Systems – the tools that support the work - Data – the truth everyone can trust Without this alignment, the pendulum swings between chaos (firefighting, no structure) and over-engineering (too many tools, no adoption). Either way, growth suffers. That's true in SaaS. It's true in manufacturing. And it's absolutely true in football. In most clubs, ticketing, marketing, and sponsorship run on separate islands — with different systems, metrics, and priorities. The result? - Fans get generic communication - Sponsors struggle to see value - Data sits unused in disconnected silos A dedicated RevOps function fixes that. It creates a single commercial backbone for the club — where everyone works from the same playbook, with the same data, toward the same goals. On the pitch, the team wins by playing in sync. Off the pitch, RevOps is how you achieve the same.

HOT TIP: If you're a seasoned RevOps professional or still learning the ropes, if you're intrinsic to revenue generation from SDR to CRO, if you're interested in how tech businesses create sustainable growth or you want to understand one of the most important and least understood job functions of modern times.... ....you must read The RevOps Pendulum by Haris Odobasic. A culmination of years of frontline work, full of incredible information, explanations and insight, and could well become the bible of RevOps.

What a party yesterday, the book launch of Haris Odobasic from Revenue Wizards. Our RevOps/Salesforce expert at The GTM Syndicate surely knows how to write a great book - and to give an amazing party! (Very tasty) canapes, an art expo, fire chats, book giveaway, a dj-set, wow. It really had everything. Victor De Coster, Wouter Dieleman and I went to celebrate Haris and his new book called "The RevOps Pendulum". Which has been so warmly received by the RevOps industry. The room was absolutely packed with top RevOps leaders. Was great seeing André Bressel, Brendon Montgomery, Ken C. and other Pavillion members there as well! It's safe to say Haris is one of the best RevOps people I know, and with this book, the authority in RevOps he absolutely is, even solidifies further. Thank you for having me, and I have a lot of reading to do this weekend. It's beautiful how, ultimately, all this can be linked back to Jacco van der Kooij, who somehow connects us all. Both in our love for RevOps and revenue architecture, but also effectively connecting us all, one way or another. I think that's beautiful. Now finally, I am able to learn every little thing about RevOps - simply by reading the book. I look forward to that. And now, so can you! Order the book on Amazon and indulge yourself in learning all about RevOps from one of the very best domain experts out there.

One of the 7 Habits of 𝘏𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘺 𝘌𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘗𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 is to “sharpen the saw” — to continually invest in your own growth. For me, that often comes through reading, and I thoroughly enjoyed 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗢𝗽𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘂𝗺 by Haris Odobasic. What stood out was how he framed the journey from establishing the swing — defining the RevOps function, moving from tactical to strategic, and mastering stakeholder management — through to the core pillars of enablement, process, systems, data and insights, and finance alignment. Even after years in RevOps myself, I found fresh perspectives and plenty to reflect on. Haris’s take reminded me that no matter how seasoned we are, there’s always more to refine and relearn. I’ll leave you with one quote that resonated with me the most: “𝘐𝘯 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘸𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵; 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢” (W. Edwards Deming). If you’re in RevOps — whether at the beginning of your journey or looking to stretch further — I highly recommend picking up this book. I’d love to hear your thoughts once you’ve read it.

I am in a book (super tiny contribution but hey, I am still in a book 😊) And not just any book, but the go-to book on hashtag #RevOps written by none other than leading voice Haris Odobasic 🎉 At last week’s book launch Haris brought together the very vibrant, fun and thriving RevOps community in Amsterdam. It was great to see so many familiar but also new faces. 👋 Stephane Maes Ken C.Jasper Hugen Victor De Coster Evelina Petrova-op den Kelder Auke Grondsma and many more. 5 years ago I said to my team, given the changed scope and where we wanted to go, we now continue as Revenue Operations because if it swims like a duck, quacks like a duck, well then… Great to see that now a few years later many companies have adopted RevOps as well while the upcoming function continues to evolve with AI and relentless focus on sustainable growth. If you are considering to implement RevOps or are starting your RevOps career then this book will greatly help you on that journey. The many insights from various leaders in the space will also help you optimize your existing approach, so get yourself a copy of The RevOps Pendulum by Haris Odobasic! (Available on amazon)

Setting up a RevOps area is not easy. And finding good content on the subject is not either. So, here's a great recommendation: The RevOps Pendulum of Haris Odobasic. The best thing is that it was released this year. 👀 Here at ASAAS, we have already divided RevOps in the same way as Haris recommends: Enablement, Process, Systems, and Insights. Seeing this in practice, you can see how this structure completely changes the game. Sometimes, what traps you in the common trap of Oops, the famous "putting out fire" lol, is just not understanding the potential of the position in depth. When we master (really) the concept of each of these pillars, we stop reacting and start having a more strategic Ops team in Revenue. Fewer fires. More to take the lead, with clear priorities.

Are founders leaving revenue on the table? Many founders perfect their product but overlook building a predictable revenue engine. My weekend read "The RevOps Pendulum" by Haris Odobasic shows you exactly how to: Align Sales, Marketing and Customer Success for seamless customer journeys Build data-driven systems that eliminate guesswork from forecasting Create processes that scale as you grow Transform your operations into a competitive advantage The book guides you through each step of building a RevOps function that actually drives growth. The most successful companies don't just have visionaries, they have exceptional operators who turn strategy into reality. Just released this week. A must-read for founders and revenue leaders who want predictable growth. Enjoy your sunday everyone and great work Haris. I guess it was a lot of hard work and hours. #saas #revops #growth
